lex loci sitae (Lat); lex loci rei sitae : The law of the place where a thing or subject-matter is situated. The title to realty or question of real estate law can be affected only by the law of the place where the realty is situated. Lex situs (Lat) : the law of the place where the property is located. Modern law Latin for “the law of the place where property is situated.” The general rule is that lands and other immovables are governed by the Ilex situs; it by the law of the country in which they are situated.
